Manual Dial

1. Pick up the handset
2. Dial 56 or 64 before the number you are dialing
3. Dial 00, this code tells the Inmarsat satellite that you are placing a direct dialed call.
4. Dial the country code, even if you are calling from that country.
5. Dial the city code
6. Dial the number
7. Press the # key.

Hot Dial

1. Enter a prestored HSD number. Press the up/down arrow key until “Set Prestored Digits” is highlighted in the HSD CONFIGURATION table. Press the key.
2. Press the up/down arrow key until “Set DTR Digits” is highlighted in the SET PRESTORED DIGIT table. Press the key.
3. Use the up/down Arrow keys to highlight a digit from 0 – 9. Press to select the number.
4. Use the left/right arrow keys to move the underscore left or right.
5. Key in the digits
6. Connect a communication device to HSD port on the Mobilfone B
7. Start a HSD call from the communication device.
8. Connect to the ISDN Server.
9. Transfer data using the communication device at 64kbps.

KlasHopper 400 (RS-530, DB-25) connects any Windows PC to a Mobilfone B. Use standard PC applications over satellite links.

Set OWNER Levels.
1. Enter function 12 – Set User Level by pressing the key, followed by , .

Configure for HSD

3. If the screen shows “DTE HSD”, press the key three times and move to ‘Configure Routing’
4. Set the DTE port to use Async data by pressing the key followed by .
5. Press . If the screen shows “DTE HSD”, press the key three times and move to the section below, ‘Configure routing for HSD’.
6. Press the key three times to exit the menus.
7. Select the “INCOMING CALL ROUTE” function by pressing the key, followed by ,

9. Deactivate async speed data by pressing; , , ,
10. Press three times to revert to IDLE.

Configure Routing for HSD
1. Select the “INCOMING CALL ROUTING” function by pressing the key, followed by
2. Use the up and down arrow keys until the screen shows “DTE” at the top by pressing the key, followed by If it never shows this, then scroll down to the last item on the list which is indicated by the word “END” at the bottom of the screen.
3. Activate routing by pressing the key, followed by ,
4. Press three times to revert to IDLE.

Enabling the High Speed Data Service
1. Enter function 89 – Enhanced Setup by pressing the key, followed by , .
2. Scroll through the list of choices to the HSD option by pressing the key, followed by . If it is PASSWORD PROTECTED refer to (Renter/Owner level) in Operator’s Manual.
3. Activate the HSD function by pressing the key, followed by .
4. Specify SETUP level to operator by pressing the key, followed by .
5. Specify UPDATE level by pressing the key, followed by .
6. Verify settings by pressing the key.
7. Revert back to idle by pressing the three times.

Configure the High Speed Data Service
1. Enter function 85 – High Speed Data Configuration by pressing the key, followed by , .

0 = v.25bis
1 = manual dial
2 = Hotline

3. Select BIT_RATE to 64kbps by pressing the key, followed by .
4. Specify MAX_CONNECT for 30 minutes by pressing the key, followed by .
5. Specify the Originating ID supplied with your IMM number, by pressing the key, followed by <??>, ??= Originating ID, e.g. 65.33
6. Select response mode, AUTO_ANSWER to on, by pressing the key, followed by .

8. Press three times to revert to IDLE.

2. Enter *25*64# for a 64K call through the default LES.
3. Enter the subscriber number within 45 seconds.

To configure the Felcom for manual dialing, two changes have to be made on the High Speed Data’s Switch panel.
To access this panel, unfasten two screws on the front of the High Speed Data modem. Turn off switch number 1 on the left and number 3 on the right.
Plug in a telephone to the TEL socket which has been assigned number 01 on the rear of the MES. ( This is normally TEL 1.)

Note: The Felcom 82a terminal supports RS-449 DB-37.
